After a very successful event in 2022, bad apple is once again taking part in the Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day.
This year, our theme is FRAMED!
For this theme, we are asking you to submit poetry that takes inspiration from visual art that has had a significant impact on you or moved you in a special way.
This could be anything from a painting that makes you dream of the future, a sculpture that repulsed you, a mural you walk past daily or an album artwork that has fond nostalgia.
As a special way to show how significant poetry is to our community and to Aotearoa, bad apple will publish one poem online from every poet who submits! We ask that you please submit no more than THREE poems for this event. Details on how best to submit can be found at badapple.gay/submit.
Submissions will be open at editorial@badapple.gay until Friday, August 18 at midnight, ahead of National Poetry Day on Friday, August 25.
All poets will be invited to come and share their poetry LIVE in two gallery exhibition events on National Poetry Day, one in Tāmaki Makaurau and one in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Full details to come!
