With good shoes you can step on anything / delight in the cracking / crunching / stomp on glass / the wood of the table / mosaic / ceramic shrapnel / flies right past you / so that you can walk / anywhere and almost not / feel / the shards beneath you /
With good shoes you can walk the miles / and if I counted each step / it would only be to laugh about the journey later / with you / dear god / hello / it has been so long / walk you to the door and / back again / hell and back again / hello I’m back again /
With good shoes you don’t get blisters / bruises / socks that sit / comfortably on your skin / are no rare luxury / but given endlessly / freely / I do not have to break this in / like a horse and plough / but stride solidly / through the mud / sometimes it is almost / easy /
Good shoes mean good things / spending less on bad shoes / buying less / bad shoes / good shoes mean / nice earrings / and finding 10 dollars on the ground and / good kisses and / love / so much love / like you wouldn’t believe / like light floating down / forever /
O, but for good shoes / that keep you aloft / I would give it all / buy a thousand bad shoes / welcome blisters / walk forever / give up my blood to splinters / I offer it freely / all of it / every last drop / for good shoes
