“OTHER BOYS ARE BORING AND YOU ARE A BURNING HOUSE I WANT TO LIVE IN”

I thought my car broke down
But really it was me
I took the wrong exit at the Greenlane roundabout
Which is a roundabout way of saying that even on autopilot
My body tries to find its way home to you
Muscle memory overpowering the might of my mind
I drive past that grave of our love that you call a house
You burned down that infamous yellowed wood
And I’m left sobbing on the sidewalk,
Clutching at the ashes.
